Reg CC Funds Availability
Your ability to withdraw funds
At Bank of American Fork, we make funds from your cash and check deposits available to you on the first business day after receiving your deposit, while funds from electronic direct deposits are available on the same day we receive the deposit. Weekdays are considered business days; Saturdays, Sundays and federal holidays are not considered business days.
To have your funds available on the next business day, you must deposit them by certain cut-off hours. The cut-off hours are as follows:
5:00 p.m. – All branches (6:00 p.m. drive through)
If your deposit is made after these cut-off hours or on a day the bank is not open, we will consider your deposit to be made on the next business day.
Once funds are available, you may withdraw them as cash or let them remain in your bank account. We will also use your available funds to cover checks you have written.
Our right to hold your funds up to five days
In some cases, we may make only the first $100 of your deposit available to you on the next business day and hold the remainder of the funds up to five business days.
If we are not going to make all of the funds from your deposit available on the first business day, we will let you know when you make the deposit. At that time, we will also tell you when the funds will be available.
If your deposit is not made with an employee in a branch or if we decide to hold the funds after you have left the premises, we will mail you a notice by the next business day.
Our right to hold your funds up to 11 days
In some cases, we may delay your ability to withdraw funds up to 11 days after you make a deposit or cash a check. Reasons for this delay may include:
- You deposit checks totaling more than $5,000 on any one day.
- You deposit a check drawn on (paid by) another financial institution.
- You redeposit a check that has been returned unpaid.
- You have overdrawn your account repeatedly in the past six months.
- We believe a check you deposit will not be paid.
- There is an emergency at the bank, such as failure of computer or communications equipment.
- We receive a notice from paying bank that a check is being returned unpaid.
We will notify you if we delay your ability to withdraw funds for any of these reasons and will tell you when the funds will be available.
Special rules for new accounts
If you are a new customer, the following special rules will apply during the first 30 days your account is open:
- Funds from deposits of checks drawn on Bank of American Fork will be available on the same business day of your deposit.
- Funds from all other check deposits will be available no later than the ninth business day after the day of your deposit
